Google Does Property
We're thinking ... without-jargon
Following up a recent tweet, here's some more information about the new property search service from Google. You can now find properties, in the UK http://maps.google.co.uk, without leaving the Google site. When I first heard about the service I did wonder where to find it ... it's not at all obvious how to start. So here's what my first experience with the service was like (once i found it).
Let's start, simply navigate over to the maps url (ie. http://maps.google.co.uk).
To enable the property viewing option, look under the "More..." button, and check the Properties tick box.

Once selected, you will then be show the usual Google map but this time with lots of red dots, and depending on what page of results your looking at the markers to the current search results.

When you click on the propery you can drill-down and get additional information ... this saves time visiting the different Estate Agents websites. The real added bonus here is that the different agent websites are also listed with details of when the property appeaed as a listing with them. In essence it works in a very similar way to Google Products.

It seems that Google have released another killer Geo Mashup app. Previous to this I used to love using ononemap.com (now zoopla.co.uk) but now i think I can just stay on the one site.
Note to iPad users: unfortunatly this isn't working just yet on the iPad; the overlay options aren't avaliable.
