What is an Ideas Merchant?
I often get comments about the name "Ideas Merchant". It wasn't the first idea, I arrived at in fact there were quite a few. But in 1999 when I finaly arrived at the name I was very pleased. First of all the domain wasn't already taken, even back then selecting a name could be very difficult. Secondly it wraps up a lot of what I feel I am about.
In 2002 i decided to try and get a definition of what an "IdeasMerchant" is. I submitted my question to Google Answers (now defunc) and paid my fee $2. The reply contained a number of book citations and a defintion:
Ideas Merchant // n. answers.google
- a person who causes others to think about new possibilities
- a person who uses others' ideas and puts them together in new ways
- a person who comes up with new ideas
- a creative person.
