National Portrait Gallery uses OS CMS
We're thinking ... less is more!
Finally we see OpenSource reaching out and touching some 'big' sites, with the adoption of the MODx Content Management System (CMS) by the National Portrait Galley. The MODx website quotes the developers as saying "MODx won out mainly because the clients loved the manager". They go on to say "there are around 3200 modx pages and a couple of extra databases. The collections database holds 120,000 works and 45,000 sitters and artists, these are served through 7 main pages included by the modx front end. There is also a shop products database." www.npg.org.uk
